Perfect as a last minute gift and since there are 4 sizes to chose from, a great Mother/Daughter knit. Quick to make and warm to wear boot toppers are worked up in the round using bulky weight yarn for that instant gratification project.
The textured sections use an easy combinations of knit and purl stitches, allowing the cable pattern to stand out more and making this an easy project.
Wear them folded over the top of boots, or tucked inside as boot liners, or dress up that short pair of booties, your choice!

Odonata

The first colder nights of early fall bring with it cozy ideas of fair-isle knits and Scandinavian Ski sweaters to keep you toasty when the real cold gets here. But I am usually in ‘winter denial ‘until much later and then often around the darker times of the year, I am longing for the lazy, warm days of late summer with the buzzing of bees in the air. What to do? I was in no way ready to knit snowflakes! Sitting by the local creek one afternoon, soaking up some late summer sun, pondering this dilemma, I watched the dragonflies dart to and fro in the sparkling light, and the perfect idea came to me: A colorful double knit hat, with dragonflies to represent summer days, worked in jewel tones of dragonflies, sunshine and sparkling water-drops, colors which would make me happy and a hat that would keep me warm and remind me all winter long that longer days are right around the corner!
The name Odonata (Odonata is an order of insects, encompassing dragonflies and damselflies.) to me has a beautiful ring to it and makes me think ‘Ode to summer’ which is what this hat truly is!

[/x_text][x_text]

Was nun?

Inspired by the Pre-Raphealite paintings of Jason and Medea and Medea’s story, I created a shawl and Tri’Coterie created a special colorway to fit the theme:
Red transitioning to mad black.

This fingering weight shawl is worked top down from the garter tab cast on to the lace edge. The beginning lace section shows the blossoming love, like rosy petals full of hope and faith in the future, reaching out and unfurling towards the sun. The lace border shows the unraveling, the dissolving of dreams. A simple stockinette section connects the two.
The duality of Love & Madness is so perfectly captured both in the Pre-Raphaelite’s paintings and Tri’Coterie’s ‘Medea’ colorway.[/x_text][/x_column][x_column bg_color=”” type=”2/3″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]This pattern is available charted only at this time

Take campfire warmth with you wherever you go with this easy to make cowl.
Cowl can be worn wrapped twice or simply folded and tucked in. The look of embers as well as the texture is achieved through a simple drop stitch pattern which makes it possible to get dramatic results with little effort, as you are using only one color per round!

In dark green with red buttons it says ‘tis the season’ like nothing else. It’s also something Holly Golightly might have worn on cold days, peeking in the windows at Tiffany’s as the shape is somewhat of a cross between a hat and a cloche with a little bit of bonnet mixed in.

Super quick and cozy in the alpaca/wool blend, this hat works up in no time in any worsted or light worsted weight yarns. You can make one, maybe even two in an evening!

The bottom edge ribbing is worked flat in two pieces, then joined in the round and the rest of the hat is worked in one piece.
You got more hair or more brains? No problem, it’s easy to make the crown a bit longer (Instructions included) to fit you better.[/x_text][/x_column][x_column bg_color=”” type=”2/3″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Yarn: Cascade Lana D’Oro (50% Wool, 50% Alpaca, 219 yards/200 meters, 3.5 oz/100gr); 1 skein Rainforest 1076, or worsted/light worsted weight yarn, about 120 yds/110 meters

This hat is named for the hedgerow bounty we would bring home from our weekend excursions. My Mom would cook the berries into a delicious jam that could sparkle just as red as the raspberries beckoning between the green leaves, or be dark and jewel toned when there were more blackberries in the mix.

Designed to match the Hedgerow Jam cowl, it uses the same design elements but uses different techniques.

Worked in stranded color, the hat becomes nice and dense and is sure to keep your head toasty.

Great first stranded color project!

Rosy & Grey was inspired by a cold November morning, where before the sun comes up fully, the world is rendered in shades of gray and rose. Melancholy and Beauty all wrapped up into one! And just like the fog sometimes can float up and swirl down, the pattern swirls on the finished hat!

Simple and easy to make, warm but not overly bulky, it’s the perfect hat for those days when you just need a little more warmth but aren’t ready to give up on your style. Worked in the round with an easy 2 color pattern, you can make one of these in an afternoon!

You can choose which way to wear your hat, flipping the rim up for a shorter cap or leaving it as is for more coverage.

Rosy & Grey was inspired by a cold November morning, where before the sun comes up fully, the world is rendered in shades of gray and rose. Melancholy and Beauty all wrapped up into one! And just like the fog sometimes can float up and swirl down, the pattern on the finished wristlet is ‘turn-on-its-head-able’, the design stays the same. Choose which way to wear them, having either the gray or the rose colored edge showing, depending on your outfit or your mood. Worked in the round with an easy 2 color pattern, you can knock a set of these out in an afternoon! At only 50 yards per color, you might as well use up some remnants and make several, stash them in your car, purse and office for when the chill hits you!

Great first stranded project!
